biserious replied to your photo: Last Saturday I helped at a car wash fundraiser…
Glad to hear your small victory. I know that burden of the worry of coming out and the congregation reaction. My dad’s seminary school pk was caught w a guy & the church kicked his dad out….
It sucks that as pk we have to be concerned that our parent’s community standing is affected by their acceptance of us.
I can’t fathom coming out to my dad bc his community would never get over it even if he cuts ties w me. He is the minister of his childhood church and the congregation is family friends. My grandfather has been a decon there for twenty years. It’s a terrible situation bc it would touch all of my father’s family. immediately.

Announcement coming Monday

no.
when i googled this my computer crashed. no lie
fuckyeahfeminists:
Costco CEO Craig Jelinek supports raising the minimum wage.
Costco announced record profits today, averaging $10,000 in profit per employee compared to $7,400 at Walmart.
The secret to Costco’s success is paying employees well, providing benefits, and giving them an opportunity to unionize.
So large corporations’ excuses that treating & paying workers well would damage profits are all a crock of shit.

Common negative beliefs associated with cumulative trauma:
“The world is unsafe.”
“I need to protect myself at all times.”
“Nothing will ever change.”
“There is no point in trying.”
i have been trying to balance this desire for a partner with my history of abuse
why does it feel there has to be a connection?
i desire the stability and unconditional love of a family. something i have never felt
i guess i am just desperately trying to create that unit bc love and stability are necessary for a healthy and happy life and that unit is what i feel that i need
i am beginning to embrace this need as something i should not fear
i have tried other strategies to achieve that happiness and stability which were not only unsuccessful but also personally destructive
